The two ladies are back to work

I was reprimanding my kid on watching too much television hence I asked for the remote control. Before turning off the TV, I did some channel surfing. I came upon a commercial of ABS-CBN showcasing Maricar Reyes. It was for a sunday afternoon show, and a drama series at that. It is nice to see her back, because aside from her lovely face, she is also good in acting (okay, not that good but better than most newcomers). But I admire her more for being silent about the controversy. She does not deny nor admit anything about it.

The other network have also given Katrina Halili a new show as well. She is back into her usual contravida roles and right now she will making the life of the Pinay version of Rosalinda hard.

It really is so nice to see these two young ladies be given more meaty roles after the controversy that they have been into. It just goes to show that publicity, either good or bad, still is publicity.

As for the guy in that controversy, oh well, I think the Philippine Medical Association should think twice if they will just let him run off from all his misconducts.

I ♥ Faces: Just for Fun

Isn´t it nice to once in a while reminisce on how it was a few years back? This was taken one fine summer day when my son was just one year old. He was having such a nice time with the water from the shower near the swimming pool. Looking back at this picture makes me realize how he have grown so fast.

My ticket to a Holiday in Portugal

I have created a facebook group account bearing the family name of my mom. The purpose of which is that I can send a group mail to my cousins in connection with our previous (and hopefully future) reunions. But then, I was amazed because I have actually received a number of requests from people whom I really do not know telling how they wish to join the group. Three of them are from Portugal. Well, my mom´s maiden name is really Spanish sounding. Curiously, I did some research and found out that there are really a lot of Anonuevos in Portugal. I wonder if we are related at all. I remember my grandmother telling us stories that our great grandfather was from a really wealthy Hispanic family who have been Filipinized because he married our great grandmother. The wealthy part is another story. Now, if this is the case, then I guess there is a possibility that we can be related to this Anonuevos in Portugal.

Because of this, I googled on the places in Portugal. I was mesmerized at how the structure of the Santa Justa Elevator is very similar to the Eiffel Tower. It would also be nice to take a leisure walk on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão. Perhaps, I could eat at one of the seafood restaurants there. I just hope that during nighttime, I can enjoy a concert at Coliseu dos Recreios. There will be no problem if my feet got tired of walking. A decent
cheap car hire in portugal is just a phone call away. I am sure they can immediately bring me to the nearby Clarion Suites Lisbon Hotel. But then, for now, I m gonna have to answer the group requests from these ladies in Portugal bearing the same maiden name as my mom. Who knows, they could be my ticket to a holiday in Portugal.

Mommy Moments: School Days

mommy moments

School activities are always anticipated not just by kids but by parents as well. Our family is of no difference. Itś always been a family bonding day for us. Being a working mom, I always make it a point to be present whenever my kid engages in school activities. I know that it serves as a push for him to do better and it is also showing him that we appreciate all his efforts, even how small that could be.

Here are some of the school activities that the little boy have been involved with.

School Foundation Day

Educational Field Trip

Rizal Shrine

trying to move the Earth at the SM MOAś Science Center
First Grade Christmas Party

with his teachers and classmates

Itś nice and a bit frightening to see my kid starting to have his own life outside of the house. I can see that he is starting to have his own set of friends in school and I know that this makes his school days more fun and enjoyable.

For more Mommy Moments, visit Mommy Chris here. Hope to see you with us next week.

Google Page Rank Update

A few hours ago, I checked on my Google PageRank and it I got the surprise of the day. My Google Page Rank has been increased from 0 to 1. This is such a delight because I know that the ranking has just been updated last month. I have been waiting for my page rank to increase since then but to be honest I was not expecting this to happen in a months time. I would like to think that this is a sign that I really should take blogging seriously.

How about you, have you checked on your Google Page rank recently?

Feels Great to be Back

It feels that I have been totally disconnected to the world since I was not able to use the computer for almost four days. No, I did not have any problem with my internet connection. The problem was my PC needs the touch of a repairman. A webcam was actually given to me by my brother who lives (and works) in Singapore. But then when we tried to use it, it was not compatible to the operating system that have been installed in my PC. It needs Windows application but my PC has Linux installed. I am not a techie person and I know nothing about hardware/software installation. It's good that one of my cousins was just a text away. Instead of just fixing on the problem, he decided to take a few steps furhter. He asked me to buy some blank CDs and copied the piles of pictures and videos that I have been keeping for years. All the files have been saved on other CDs as well. And I was so happy after because I was able to have two operating systems installed on my PC now. And mostly because I have never worked with a speed like this before.

Mommy Moments: That's my Dad!

mommy moments

We are celebrating Father's Day this week in Mommy Moments. Admit it or not, fathers play a great role in rearing up a child. My husband provides most of the leniency that our son is not getting from me. He always believes that experience is still the best teacher, therefore, he lets his kid experience childhood the way he experienced it before. I am actually not into a lot of stuffs that they normally do, but I am so happy that my husband is able to guide our son in most of the things that would require a man's point of view.

This was taken last Easter Sunday, the son had been asking for weeks if they could go fly a kite. Well, it appears that Dada had a great time as well.

They had a very good time together while I keep on shouting at them because I don't want my son to fall from running.

The two superheroes of my life.

Oh and this would not be a father's day entry if the great guy behind my existence will not be included.

My dad together with Jian at age 1.

Cheers to all the great dads out there not just on Father's Day, but always !

Please come by at Mommy Moments, to see more great dads.

WS Foodie Wednesday: Compatible Food Combos

Wifespeaks: Foodie Wednesday

I know a lot of people would love to have a dipping of either calamansi or vinegar for their fried fish. Oh, I see the hands of my little one raising up. He loves to dip his fried fish in soysauce with calamansi juice on it. But that changed when he tasted this combo that we always have every summer.

Those are Fried Yellow Fin Tuna on a bed of Fresh Mango Salad. The mangoes are freshly picked from the tree in our backyard. The salad is actually a no-brainer to make. You just toss in a bowl some chopped green mangoes, some chopped tomatoes, some chopped onions and drizzle with very little patis and ground pepper to taste.

Oh, well this reminds me that the tree still have some fruits ready for the picking. Might as well have the same salad with some grilled porkchops this weekend.

I♥Faces: Sepia Toned

In line with father's day, I am sharing two pictures taken by hubby. Like me, he also loves taking pictures. And yes, we normally serve as his models. He does not have any professional training in photography but he sure knows how to capture a great image.

This was taken while my son is watching his favorite show on Nickelodeon.

This was a stolen shot, I was actually combing my hair.

If you want to join in the fun this week just click on any of the buttons/badges above.

Multiple Domain Website Hosting

I have been sitting in front of my computer for more than three hours just trying to get a picture of how website hosting goes. I'm thinking of bringing my blog a step higher by purchasing a domain name. The problem is that I am not a techie person, and I just don't know how to go about exporting the contains of this blog to a new domain. I am also planning on having either a food blog (because I love to cook and eat!) or a photo blog (so I can pacify the hidden desire for taking photos and being photographed). Good thing there is a site that helps out in getting even multiple domain web hosting. The site lists places where you could get all sort of information regarding website hosting. It can ease up a blogging mom's work because they have also a blog that enumerates what you should learn before buying your much wanted domain.

I am already being tempted on getting my own domain but then again I am still thinking. Is it already the right time? or should I wait some more? What if I need more help on the technicalities of building my own nook in cyberspace? I guess I will have to read more about web hosting then.

Mommy Moments: Outdoor Fun

mommy moments

This weeks theme for Mommy Moments is Outdoor Fun. Jian loves the outdoor. He is actually the type of kid who enjoys zoos and parks than the malls. These pictures were taken during our trip to La Mesa EcoPark.

The inner child in me just can't help but goof around with the kids.

Oh, and just so you know, Hubby and me enjoyed the outdoors as well.

Come and join us at Mommy Moments , where there is more outdoor fun.

Quick Dish for Lazy Days

My early mornings have been busy since monday. I am now attending to two kids (my son who goes to school and the bigger baby Hubby who goes to work). I am enjoying it so much and I am not complaining but then again, admit it or not, there are really days when you stayed late because of blogging you just can't go to sleep easily. I need to prepare their breakfast real quick or they will end up munching on just bread. This dish is a quick fix to those days when I feel too lazy like not getting up too early.

Let's Talk Perfume

"Wow! you smell nice.", that coming from my son is a very good sign of appreciation. He must have told me that each time I wear my favorite scent, that gives me the reason to wear the scent every time I need a thumbs up from my two guys. Hubby is actually not so into perfumes and scents, but he likes the smell of Clinique Happy. He said it smells fresh and very subtle unlike other scents which can be overpowering. What I love about this scent is that it compliments the natural cleanliness of us women. There are actually a lot of scents that I have tried but I kept coming back to Clinique Happy.

Do you know there is a site that talks about perfume? It is aptly titled Talk Perfume, it has reviews of scents from all over the world. You can even leave your own review for scents that you like. Head on to Talk Perfume and dig into the scents that they have already reviewed. After all, perfumes are the women's second skin.

My Wake Up Song

I still can't get over the Juday-Ryan special that have been aired about two weeks ago. I am really not a fan of Judy Ann although I believe she is one of the few good young actresses that we have right now. I actually watch the wedding special because the post-production was done by my uncle. He is no less than Danny Anonuevo, the editor of Ploning and Baler. But then, what actually got me glued to the screen was the fact that the Apo Hiking Society was singing their songs. I must have been born on the wrong era ( Hubby always tells me this) because I love songs from the past. One particular song that I really love from the APO was titled "Love is for Singing". The tune was so light that you can't help but sing with it. For almost a week now, this has been my wake up song from Hubby. He just lets me wake up to this wonderful song. I know that if he could only sing a tune, he'd gladly sing this for me but then again that's a different story.

Love Is For Singing

Let me tell you about
Love

Love is for singing this little tune
Love is for rhyming odd things and moon
Love is for writing songs that end in June, hmm
Love is for knowing I’ll see you soon

Love is for writing songs with mushy lines
Love is for singing these lines in rhyme
Love is for making memories of time, oh yeah
Love is for knowing you’ll soon be mine

Love is for silly, silly things
That you’ll never think of doing
And all of a sudden little things
Have bigger meanings

It’s getting up at night
And climbing up a tree so high
And then you try and touch the sky
And you ask why, why, why (oh why)

It’s getting up at night
And climbing up a tree so high
And then you try and touch the sky
And you ask

Love is for answering these crazy, crazy questions
Love is for getting to the answers through emotions

Cause love is a wonder
And it’s a thrill when you’re under
Its spell your heart beating thunder
Because she’s there

Love is a wonder
And it’s a thrill when you’re under
Its spell your heart beating thunder
Because she’s there

Lalalalalalalalala
(Let me tell you ’bout love/yeah)

Are you humming any song right now? Care to share?

A lot of people have been telling you that your kid's photo are great and that he really exudes a different charm on each and every single shots. Don't you think its high time for your kid to join in TheCuteKid, it is an online baby and photo contest that offers great prizes for their mothly winners. The site actually requires a minimal fee of $19.95 but then there are a lot of freebies for all of those who will be joining in. For a limited time, those who will be entering their photo for the contest, will be getting an 11 x 14 canvas portrait of the entry. If you don't want to enter the contest, you may still upload your kid's picture and you will be sent an 8 x 10 canvas copy of that picture . You just have to shed off some cash for shipping and handling. The prizes at stake for the winner are really great. What's good about this is that every cute kid gets to join irregardless of their location. Sounds pretty cool? Well, I can't resist the opportunity so I did some research and found this cute photo of my son.

Now, i just need to ask Hubby about entering the contest. I need to borrow his credit card for the fee and the shipping and handling of the canvas.

TheCuteKid

Now, if I were you, I'll check on those piles of photo that you have and look for the best and then head on to the TheCuteKid. Who knows? it could be your kid they are looking for.
