Take it! Take it!

No, this is not about the scam that made Gabby Concepcion fly to the US. It's all about the rollercoaster ride that I am having at work.

I have been tapped by supervisors from my account to train for a new LOB (line of business). To be honest, I was elated by the fact but then I was also in fear of this fact. Elated because I can't even be considered a veteran in the account but opportunities seems to come by. In fear because being the non-technical person that I am, this are all new to me. Few months back I don't even know what nameservers are or what how a website makes its way to our computer screens. The LOB that I was told to handle would be one of the hardest in this account. And yes, I admitted that this is one of my waterloo. But then, being the open-minded person that I am, I am looking at all the opportunities as additional knowledge and I would like to grab them as they come my way. (Blame it on my high school teacher who embedded me with the notion that "opportunities only knock once." and they should be taken or they will be gone in a matter of time.) So there it goes, sooner I will be under training again. Whatever happens with the training, I know it will be to my advantage.

And oh, I almost forgot to say, chances are I will have my own domain name and hosting package for free. Yeey!

New Year's Feast...New Year Feat

Exactly eight days to go before Christmas and fifteen days before New Year, hubby and I are still debating on what to have on our table for the special occassion. I have been suggesting that we go for an all-Filipino feast for New Year, except for the addition of the Spagetti (which I am planning of Filipinizing as well). Hubby wants to have an Asian inspired feast on the other hand. He was even telling me that the Paella and the Leche Flan are not actually Filipino dish iin nature and that there are actually no such thing as authentic Filipino dish because dishes of the Philippines are actually a fusion. But since I do the marketing of the groceries and other stuff, he can't say "No." if I already have them on the pantry. I want an all Filipino menu because my two brothers who are from Singapore and Japan will be here. I know how hard it is to find authentic Pinoy dishes cooked the way it should be when you are far from home. Besides, it is only during this time that my brothers are here. So,here goes the menu for the New Year's Eve feast.

Appetizers:
Lumpiang Prito
Main Dishes:
Seafood Paella
Pork Hamonado
Pochero
Pancit Palabok
Herbed Chicken Inasal
Spagetti
Desserts:
Ube Halaya
Leche Plan
Sapin-sapin

For sure my younger brother who adores my mom's Dinuguan will be asking me to make my version of it and the other brother will be asking for Kare Kare. This means that I might spend most of my time in the kitchen before the countdown. For sure the New Year's feast will be a New Year's feat for me but I really don't care, as long as I can suffice their cravings. The smiles on their faces will be more than enough to repay the day's hardwork at the kitchen.

Downtime at the office

A lot of things have been changing these past few days. The volume of calls that we are receiving suddenly dropped down. I know that for the management this is not a good sign. But, hey I am only an agent (a normal one at that!) who simply adores those avail time because it means catching up on the latest chika at the office or even from the life of my seatmate.

Avail time is a gift for us. This basically means time to spend chatting and to me it means being able to update this blog that I have neglected for the past few months. It is not that I do not have anything to share but I just cannot find the time to update my site. I bet right now you could already imagine the feeling of being gifted some minutes to make this entry.

I hope that the following days will be the same as today (and the previous days), that way I take some time to make more updates.

Mommy Moments: Hat Day

I have been absent for a bunch of fridays already but I still wish that my fellow mommies will take time to read my Mommy Moments entry for this week.

Boys have always been fond of accessorizing themselves with hats and my Jian is of no difference. He had always been wearing hats eversince he was a toddler. Hubby always completes his attire by buying a complimentary hat. Jian seems to like wearing them. But what I am sharing right now are fun shots we had when we went shopping one time. We bumped into a collection of different hats from the Toy's Section. And just look how he had fun trying them all.

These are actually some of my favorite pictures of my toddler then. If you want to see more kids wearing all hats possible, please take time to visit Mommy Moments.

Thanking the Heavy Rain

It has been a long time since I have been able to write anything here. I have been too busy with the recent movement in the office. With my new account comes a lot of new learnings as well. It's like taking a crash course in computer terminologies and it feels most of the time that my head is about to burst with the new knowledge. The hardest part of it? well, it's not the learning but the unlearning of all the process that have stayed on my system for almost three years.

I must admit thanking the heavy rains that poured over Metro Manila for the past few days. It makes me stay home for almost five days. Yes, I was not able to come to the office last night because of the heavy rains. It felt bad but it also felt right. I had the chance to revisit this site and saw how I actually neglected it over the past few weeks.

I do hope that the end of my training ( which will be in two weeks time ) will give me more time to do what I really love to do. And yes, Blogging is surely one of them.
