A is for "Attraversiamo"

Attraversiamo, Let's Cross over

ATTRAVERSIAMO, an Italian word that means "let's cross over." I am no Italian but this has been my favorite A word ever since I have watched "Eat, Pray, Love". It tells of how a married woman find her appetite for life back, how she deals with her own issues in life with the help of the people she meets along her journey. I don't have any marital problems whatsoever but this word reminds me that one day as a mother I will have to cross over some things or situations for my son. I will have to learn how to let him go if he no longer needs my assistance. I will have to let him be the person he wants to be and not the person I want him to become. And judging from how he is fast growing, this could be sooner than later. Oh well, I guess I'll just say Attraversiamo when that time comes! And also my first name starts with the letter A. Care to guess what my first name is? It's a very common name so it won't be hard to guess. For more of A inspired writings, please check out

Red is my Favorite Color

Red is my favorite color. If you check my closet, you will definitely see how red is favored as most of the shirts and blouses that I have are in that color. It was actually a late love affair for me and the color red. As a kid, I was not into this color, mainly because I am a "morena" and during those times, I don't think that it fits my skin color. The love for red started when I realized that it is actually a very powerful color and that it can really boost one's personality. It had always been associated with confidence.

Wearing two of my favorite red outfits.

And the love for this color is also visible on other things.

Me and my brothers having fun with our red curtain as the back drop.
And then, I realized that a red bag is all you need to level up a drab outfit.
And whenever I am not feeling right, all I need is a dab of my favorite red lipstick to change my mood.

Now can you guess my favorite superhero?

Q is Quiet Time

From the moment that I had started to read, I had always been a bookworm. I find solace in reading than in watching TVs or listening to the radio. Reading brings me to places I have never been and makes me experience things that are most of the times out-of-this-world. And this is the very same reason why I am such a sucker for book sale! Yesterday, we went to one of our favorite bookstore and these are the books that I hauled.
Reading is my me-time, my quiet time and I enjoy every moment of it. And I am glad that the kid seems to inherit the fondness for reading. He has his own collection of comic books to brag about.

A large, still book is a piece of quietness, succulent and nourishing in a noisy world, which I approach and imbibe with “a sort of greedy enjoyment,” as Marcel Proust said of those rooms of his old home whose air was “saturated with the bouquet of silence.” – Holbrook Jackson

Songs that Make Us Sing Saturdays: Let's Get Physical

Two weeks from now my kid is going back to school. That means, we won't be together and I will be having more mom-Me time, teehee! As early as now, I am already planning on doing a lot of things while the kid is on school. Perhaps, its time to do some gardening again or perhaps time for me do some exercising. Oh, exercising!, that's one thing that this mom needs nowadays especially since I am not getting any younger. Time for me to go get the sneakers and head on to the gym or perhaps just get a aerobics video that I could follow at the comfort of our home.
This song will be my everyday companion then. I am getting excited at getting fit!

S is for Strawberries on Nails

I am loving memes nowadays perhaps because it gives me ideas on what to brag blog about. This week, while hopping in from one blog to another I was able to come accross a nice meme, hence I am joining in the fun.
S is for my strawberry shortcake inspired nails. I am so loving nail arts recently and have been bugging my sis-in-law to do them for me.

Mom-Me Time No. 9: Photo Editing

I have always been awed by how people manipulated their images on Photoshop. To be honest I have not tried out using the software myself. I get intimidated with all the icons that I am seeing on its interface. But I really wanted to have something done on two images. I have asked a friend and he said it can be easily done in Photoshop. Another confession, I don't have the software installed in my laptop yet. So, what I actually did was to figure out if there was an online version of it or something similar. Luckily I was able to find one. After reading on some tutorials, I tried to figure out how to use it. After about two hours,I was able to do what I want with two images. The images on the left show the edited versions and those on the right were the originals. I hope you will notice their difference. *wink*

It is always nice knowing you have not lose your creative side even with all the lunacies of being a mother and a wife. And this is what I consider my Mom-Me time for the week. I wonder what do you think about my Mom-Me time?

Mom-Me Time No. 8: Foot Spa

Do you know that the your feet could be your most overworked part of the body? Imagine moving from one location to another without the use of your most trusted appendages. For the last couple of weeks, my feet (as well as my calves!) feels tired with all the heels and the walking perhaps. I have been telling Hubby about how my lower appendages felt tired and that the usual exercises not relieving the stress. It's a good thing that Hubby treated me to a footspa. We went to this really nice salon in the heart of Valenzuela. The owner of the salon was one of his friends. After about an hour of cleaning and massaging, I could feel that my lower extremities are smiling and thanking heaven Hubby for the treat. Perhaps, in the future I could go for an all out whole body massage. Hmm, might tell Hubby my body is envy of the treat and is requesting for a massage, too. Oh, well, I hope he will give in to that.

Mom-Me Time No. 7 : My First

I received an invitation from RJ's Mom to join in her hosted meme, Mom-Me time. The idea is that mommies have to share their my-time-alone time for the week (forgive the redundancy!, you know what I mean) I cannot pass on an opportunity like this specially if it involves having time for myself. Oh, well, I then contemplated on what I have done for the week that I can say my time alone. I supposed all mom's would agree that it is really hard to find time all for ourselves. As I read on the mechanics of the meme, mommies can also post on how they would plan to have their Me-time if given the luxury.

For me,I would definitely appreciate an hour at the tub, specially if it is milk or lemon infused water that I am soaking at. Ah, precious bath time. When I was still single, my bath time is a hurry if it is less than 20 minutes. After being a Mom, it is a luxury if my bath time is at 20 minutes. Perhaps, being pampered at a saloon is also a great time for myself. Oh, you know what? This list could go on and on and on. This is a good meme, I will have the reason to having a Me-Time afterall.
