I was channel surfing last night and I was able to catch some segments of Moments. It is Net 25 talk show that showcases moms of different sizes and styles. Last night, show host Gladys Reyes was interviewing 1973 Miss World 1st runner-up Evangeline Pascual and she was a brilliant speaker. Rarely, could you see someone talk like her. She speaks both with grace and essence. She is the epitome of a real beauty queen. She mentioned of a quote from one actress (which according to Google was Audrey Hepburn) which talks about how women can stay beautiful. I googled it up right away and I am writing the phrase in full below.
"For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others."
She was also giving an advice to Moms not to be afraid in reinventing themselves. She said not to go within the conformity that the society is dictating over moms. She said that we have to love ourselves in order to have the love that we seek from others. She even mentioned that she has embraced the fact that being a mom is from the womb to the tomb. And because , she mentions about moms reinventing themselves once in awhile then I have made up my mind. I will go and get my haircut within this month and yes, I will be posing my new look on this site.

Goodbye, MJ
Michael Joseph Jackson or Michael Jackson to the millions of fans that have loved him died June 25, 2009. I am not a Michael Jackson fan although I grew up with his songs being played on most radio stations. The artist in him is undoubtedly one of the finest. A male soprano (too rare can a male sing in fine falsetto the way he does), a songwriter and a record producer rolled into one. The world might not be able to see someone like him again. He is legendary. It saddens me though that even his death is being haunted by controversy.
There have been rumors circulating that he died due to drug overdose, perhaps a sedative as his nutritionist is claiming. His father is also asking for another autopsy. Another controversy is the custody of his children. The Jackson family expressed that they will not let the custody of the kids be given to anyone else but them. The whole world is still awaiting for the place where his remain will be buried. Hollywood news are pointing to Neverland Ranch although the family said they still don´t have any decision.
In our household, we grew up hearing his song eventhough no one really adores him that much. Growing up in the 80ś, you can´t help but listen to his music. I mean , they are everywhere. Even those brightly colored buses in Edsa are showing his concert in Bucharest. And yes, let me admit, I have a very special liking to three of his songs; Man in the Mirror, Heal the World and We are the World. Yes, MJ is already dead but these songs will always echo his advocacies. Everyone is a sinner so let us stop throwing stones at him and start working for a better world.
May his soul find the peace that he was not able to get her on Earth.

The two ladies are back to work
I was reprimanding my kid on watching too much television hence I asked for the remote control. Before turning off the TV, I did some channel surfing. I came upon a commercial of ABS-CBN showcasing Maricar Reyes. It was for a sunday afternoon show, and a drama series at that. It is nice to see her back, because aside from her lovely face, she is also good in acting (okay, not that good but better than most newcomers). But I admire her more for being silent about the controversy. She does not deny nor admit anything about it.
The other network have also given Katrina Halili a new show as well. She is back into her usual contravida roles and right now she will making the life of the Pinay version of Rosalinda hard.
It really is so nice to see these two young ladies be given more meaty roles after the controversy that they have been into. It just goes to show that publicity, either good or bad, still is publicity.
As for the guy in that controversy, oh well, I think the Philippine Medical Association should think twice if they will just let him run off from all his misconducts.
